The small three roll mill frame takes up little room on the lab bench, yet offers the operator the versatility of dispersing a wide variety of products. This unit is specially designed for quantities up to 7 liters per hour.

EXAKT 50 Classic Highlights:

Used for intensive trituration and dispersion of ointments, creams, pastes, gels and suspensions, the EXAKT 50 ointment mill specializes in the reduction of particle size for better absorption into the body regardless of the route of administration. The mill features three porcelain rollers which are manufactured to extremely close tolerances. The reduction of particle size is achieved by all three rollers running at varying speeds, creating a shearing action. Two side guides on top of the rollers aid the compounder in the placement of the compound onto the back set of rollers. The compound then moves through the mill and onto the scraper plate. If the desired level of trituration has been achieved, the compound may then be dispensed. If more trituration is desired, the compound may be scraped off of the plate and run back through the mill. Cleaning the ointment mill is performed by turning off the unit, spraying alcohol on a paper towel, and manually turning the rollers while wiping them clean.
